Have you experienced or observed ‘Work Hurts’?
The statistics are compelling:
-over 70% of employees are disengaged
-close to 10% of U.S. adults have experienced depression at least once
-over 31% of U.S. adults experience an anxiety disorder at least once
-over 19% of adults suffer as a target of workplace bullying
-another 19% of adults witness workplace bullying
When we suffer at work, who do we go to for help? And how do we heal?
These are some of the questions our new effort called, “The Heal Work Hurts Project” are delving into. We are interested in finding out more about what ‘work hurts’ are happening to people in organizations, how people are impacted by these work hurts, how severe the impact is on their lives, and what actions they take in order to move on and heal.
We invite anyone — whether you have experienced getting fired, demoted, undervalued, humiliated, sabotaged, bullied, given poor feedback, given no feedback or other work hurts . . . or if you’ve observed these kinds of things happening to someone else at work . . . to please share your experience using our short, 1-2 minute, confidential survey at:
After the survey closes on October 1, 2019, we will synthesize responses and report back on what we find, along with outlining possible improvements to the way we support – or don’t support – our employees.
Your involvement is important and appreciated!
